We are a family-run small working farm in South Wales, mainly farming sheep and producing haylage. We also run an honesty box for eggs and fire wood. We are Ben and Rhiannon and our 5 children.

We have lived here since 2018, but Ben’s family have been farming for 4 generations.

Our core flock are native badger-faced welsh mountain sheep (torddu) and we are passionate about native breeds and farming the land in more sustainable ways.

We created The Farm Retreat because we want to share our knowledge, learn from others and share the beautiful experiences of farm life, as well as hopefully providing an insight into the modern challenges that come along with it.

Farms and their animals are an important part of our heritage, our landscape, our ecology and our community and we want to be part of keeping that going.

We are Welsh learners and our three young children are Welsh speakers. We aim to keep learning, keep practicing and help others learn too. This website will be available in welsh as soon as I can! Please speak Welsh to us if you can!
